Chairing on the Research Oversight Committee for the GenCOUNSEL project involves video- and face-to-face meetings in Vancouver with the project team and other members of the ROC to hear updates on the project and offer a ‘critical friend’ view on the direction of travel of the research.

"GenCOUNSEL: Optimization of genetic counselling for clinical implementation of genome-wide sequencing - this is a $4mill+ research project funded by Genome BC that aims to understand the current and future need for genetic counsellors, investigate and develop best practices for delivery of genetic counselling, improve access to genetic counselling, in particular for underserved patient populations, and develop a framework for the legal recognition of genetic counsellors."
