About us

We are a group of academics working in a non-profit research institute, who explore the ethical, legal and social issues raised by genomics. With specialist expertise in genetic counselling, we also contribute a societal voice on the impact of genomics as well contribute to policy and teaching about genetic counselling. Whilst we don’t do normative bioethics, often our empirical research has an ethical conundrum at the heart of it. We are core funded by Wellcome.

As part of Connecting Science, our collective mission is to inspire new thinking, spark conversation and support learning by drawing on the ground-breaking research taking place on the Wellcome Genome Campus, Cambridge.
